Latest Belly Shot...

So, I haven't posted any belly shots lately. Here I am at 22 weeks...Yikes! I can't even imagine how much bigger I'm going to get!!!

IT'S A BOY!!!

Last week was Baby Ingrum's 20 week ultrasound. I woke up at 4:30 that morning (for one of my frequent night time bathroom visits), and due to overwhelming excitement and anxiety, I never fell back asleep. Bryan and I got to the doctor's office bright and early with a small entourage in tow (Lisa and my Mom). A friend had told me to drink a big glass of orange juice before the appointment, claiming that it was the magic trick to get the baby moving and ensure a good "money shot". Well, I must've drank a little too much OJ, because that baby was going bonkers! The sono tech said she could tell the sex right away, but it took a little while to get a good picture since our little one would NOT hold still! She finally showed us this picture, and said "Congratulations, it's a boy!"

I was in complete shock! I'd been convinced since day 1 that this baby was a girl, and it took a good couple of minutes for it to sink in that I was WRONG! So much for my maternal instincts! Regardless, Bryan and I are both thrilled beyond words, and can't wait to meet our SON in a few short months!

So, without further adieu, we'd like to announce our baby boy's name...

Caden Bryan Ingrum

I can't believe I'm more than halfway through my pregnancy. It's gone by soooo quickly, and it's honestly been a piece of cake (knocking on wood - don't want to jinx myself!). I know the second half is going to fly by too, and we're going to get very busy in preparation of Caden's arrival. I promise to keep posting, and to take lots of pictures of the nursery, new baby gear, belly shots, baby showers, ultrasounds, etc. Our little man will be here before we know it, and I can't wait to document every step of the way!

2010

Well, as always, things have been busy in the Ingrum household...resulting in my lack of blogging. We had a fabulous Christmas and New Year, and 2010 is going great so far. I had my 16 week prenatal appointment this week, and Baby Ingrum is doing great! Here are a few pics of our latest sonogram, although they are from a few weeks ago at my 12 week appointment. Just a few more weeks until our BIG doctor's appointment, where we'll find out the sex of the baby! The big day is 2/22 at 9 am. I've been thinking that it's a girl for a while now, but Bryan is convinced that it's a boy...so it'll be fun to see who's right. Either way, we'll both be ecstatic! Once we know for sure, I'll be so excited to start SHOPPING for baby! We haven't bought much at all yet, but Bryan did surprise me at Christmas with the nursery furniture I had my eye on. He got me this crib and changing table (these are NOT of our nursery though...I wish!)

I'm also starting to show a little bit. It's funny...every weekend when Bryan comes home after not seeing me for several days, he says he can tell my belly has grown. It's hard to believe I still have 5 more months of "growing" to do....yikes! Here is a pic of me at 14 weeks, about 2 weeks ago.That's really about all that's been going on with us. We're going to be really busy come spring time with birthdays, weddings, childbirth classes, showers, and preparing for our little one...so we're enjoying the down time while we still can!

Great Expectations

I can't tell you all how ecstatic I am to be posting this news...Bryan and I are expecting a BABY! I'm 7 weeks along, and my due date is July 13th! We're beside ourselves with joy, and after months....and months....and months of trying, we're so excited that it has finally happened! Our first ultrasound was yesterday, and although I was nervous, to say the least, everything looked great! The heartbeat was strong (133 beats per minute), and seeing the little flicker on the ultrasound screen was such an amazing experience! It definitely made it sink in a little more that I am, in fact, pregnant! Here is Baby Ingrum's first pic!So far, I feel really good. I really haven't had any morning sickness at all. I've just been way more tired than usual, but I feel lucky that everything has been easy thus far. Anyway, the next 7 or so months will surely be an exciting time for us, and I *promise* to update this blog more frequently! Our next ultrasound in 12/28 so I'll post another update then, if not sooner! A huge thank you to all of our family and friends that have been supporting and praying for us in our quest to start a family. One thing we are sure of, is that our baby will be brought into a world filled with the loving people God has blessed our lives with!

A New Addition...

So, after months and months...and months...of begging on Bryan's part, we finally have adopted a puppy! Meet Cowboy, our new Jack Russell pup! We've had him for about 2 weeks now, and we just love him to pieces! He's about 12 weeks old, and we adopted him from a family whose little boy was allergic to dog saliva! : ( Never heard of that...kinda weird! He *does* have an abundant amount of energy, but he also has a really affectionate and sweet side too. I'm really happy I finally caved in, and I think Cowboy is the perfect dog for us! Now I can't imagine our home without him!

My New Ride

So, last week was pretty exciting. After 8 years of driving my sporty, fun Camaro, the time had come to trade up to something a little more "grown up". We had hoped to take advantage of the Cash for Clunkers program, but unfortunately the Camaro wasn't deemed a "clunker". But we still got a great deal, and this is what I got!

It's a 2010 Toyota Corolla S. Pretty cool for a 4 door, right? It's really practical (35 mpg!) and has everything I wanted, so I think I'll really enjoy it. And it'll be great *just in case* we have a new addition to our family in the future.

I will miss my Camaro though. I had some great times in that car, and it was the first big purchase I ever made. I remember picking up extra shifts waiting tables so I could make my car payment...my first real bill. Ahh, memories!

With This Groom's Cake, I Thee Wed...

I'm hijacking this topic from my friend Heather's blog. She wrote about Blue Bell Groom's Cake Ice Cream the other day, and to my pleasant surprise, I found a pint at Walmart today. Ice cream might just be my favorite dessert ever....and in the hot Texas summer, I can't get enough!

Groom's Cake is a chocolate ice cream with chocolate cake pieces and chocolate coated strawberry hearts, surrounded by swirls of strawberry sauce and chocolate icing...

Need I say more? YUM! It is so delicious! I'm just thankful it comes in pint sizes. I'll be avoiding the 1/2 gallons at all costs!

2 Months From Today...

...cannot come soon enough! I am ridiculously excited about our upcoming vacation!!! For our 2nd Anniversary, Bryan and I booked a trip to PUERTO VALLARTA, MEXICO! 5 days and 4 nights at Dreams All-Inclusive Resort. We even upgraded to a Junior Suite!
YAY! I'm so glad we went ahead and did this. I can't tell you how many times I've gone back and forth about going somewhere, but always talked myself out of it for one reason or another. We finally just bit the bullet, and did it! Now I can't wait for September to get here! This will be our first *real* vacation (by ourselves) since our honeymoon, and I think we definitely need some time away together!
I've heard such great things about PV, and neither of us have ever been before. Let me know if anyone has any good recommendations for restaurants, tours, sightseeing, etc. Buenos Noches!

Cute As Can Be!

I went to a baby shower last weekend for a friend of mine, Kristi Lynn, and I just HAD to share the adorable gift that Lisa and I made for her. A cowgirl themed diaper cake! Me and Lisa had so much fun making this, and are thinking about starting a side business and selling them. I have *several* pregnant friends right now, so I'll probably get to practice on a few more. Anyway, if you or anyone you know are interested in purchasing a diaper cake, please let me know. We can customize it any way you'd like!

Also...Kristi Lynn was induced 3 days after her shower, and had her beautiful baby girl, Madison Lynn, on Tuesday! Awww!

Keep On Keepin' On...

This past weekend, my dear old dad celebrated his 50th birthday. In typical "Joe" fashion he threw an extravagant party to honor himself. The grand event was at his house in Dallas, and there were about 75 guests. He, of course, went all out on the party - catering, live music, and even valet parking. It was a total blast! I brought my own entourage of people, and we had such a great time. Friends from high school (who I *rarely* see) showed up, and it was so great catching up with them! We had so much fun, that we didn't leave his house until 3 am! I can't remember the last time I was out that late...I was literally falling asleep standing up by the end of the night. Kaboom! - 4th of July 2009

We got back from our family reunion a few days ago, and as always, we had a great time. Bryan and I got up early on Friday to finish packing, load the truck, hook up the boat, etc. Then we had to drive to an unsavory area of Dallas to pick up 40 lbs (our family is enormous) of fajita meat. We always get it from this little Mexican grocery store, and it is THE BEST! It's called La Michocana, and I believe they have locations all over Texas. So anyway, we hit the road around noon, and got down to the lakehouse early that evening....we had to make a few detours (Czech Stop! - SO worth the 20 minute line out the door). It was a wonderful reunion. We took the boat out, went swimming with the kids, visited with all the relatives, and saw an amazing fireworks show! In addition, I have to confess that I overcame one of my lifelong fears at the lakehouse this year. Ever since we were kids, my bold and fearless sister would jump off of the second story deck above the boat dock into the lake. I was always too scared....I don't do heights! I'd say it's a 15-20 foot drop. But, finally, at age 27....I mustered up the courage. Yay me! Ready To Get Outta Dodge!

This has been the longest, short week EVER! Luckily, just 1 more day....even though I don't get paid for Friday (jeez, Dad!). Anyway, we're leaving Friday to head down to our annual family reunion in Burnet, TX (northwest of Austin) at my aunt and uncle's lakehouse. I'm really excited...mostly to see the fam of course, but also for this....

Sad, I know. But it's a required pit stop anytime we find ourselves southbound 35. They have the best kolaches, sandwiches, desserts, etc. Mmm, I can taste the pimento cheese already. Haha, anyway, I look foward to it every year! I *highly* recommend it if you've never experienced Czech Stop! (exit 353 in West if you're interested!)

Not too much else going on. Bryan will be home tomorrow. We still need to get the boat ready for this weekend, do a mountain of laundry, and pack. I think it's safe to say I'll be up late on Thursday night. I'm so ready to get out of town though...I'll be sure to take lots of pics to post upon my return! HAPPY 4TH!

Colin's Graduation

My baby brother Colin graduated high school a few weeks ago, and I am so very proud of him!The graduation ceremony was held at Dallas Convention Center on 6/8/09. The ceremony was loooonnnggg (1000+ graduates!), but I was happy to be there to support Colin. He's going to orientation in a few weeks, and will be starting Collin County Community College in the fall. I still can't believe he's 18 and out of school! That means I am officially....OLD! : (
